Requirements

• Android 13 or newer, 64-bit device.
• AI captions and descriptions need Gemini Nano through AICore on supported devices. Other devices skip that step.
• Semantic search needs enough RAM for the model and an install from Google Play, because the model arrives as a Play asset pack.

What downloads after install

• The optional semantic search model, about 375 MB, only if you enable it in Settings → AI Models. You can require Wi-Fi.
• Small on-demand models for text recognition and other ML Kit features, managed by Google Play services.
• The Home-View web viewer bundle, only when you start Home-View for the first time.

First run

Grant access to all photos and videos, then let the phone sit on a charger for a while. Indexing runs in the background and reports progress per step in the Media Processing screen. Search, people and places fill in as steps complete. See the getting started guide.
