Hide Photos in the Sensitive Media Vault

Blur media out of the grid, lock the vault with biometrics, and know which surfaces exclude hidden media.

  1. 1

    Select the media

Long-press or scrub to select photos and videos in the grid.

  2. 2

    Mark as sensitive

Choose Mark sensitive from the selection sheet. The items are blurred in the grid.

  3. 3

    Turn on the vault lock

Settings → Security → Sensitive media → require biometrics. Viewing hidden media now asks for your fingerprint or face.

  4. 4

    Review what is excluded

Hidden media stays out of widgets, stories and browsing previews, shows a generic pin on the map, and is excluded from Home-View by default.

Unhiding

Open the sensitive media screen, select the items and choose Unmark. They return to the grid immediately.

What the vault is not

Hidden media is still a file on your storage, readable by other apps you have granted access to. The vault controls what Pixel Gallery shows, not what the file system contains. The Vault & Security page explains the difference.
